Daniel Craze, of Valley Head served in Company C of the 1st Alabama and Tennessee Vidette Cavalry. He was born in DeKalb Co. Alabama, and is listed in the 1860 DeKalb Co. census as the minor child of James Craze. He has mustered in as a private on September 19th 1863 at Stevenson Alabama (at age 21). He was mustered out on June 16th 1864 at Stevenson Alabama as a private. He was mustered in along with his father James Craze (who died in a hospital in Stevenson during the war) and an uncle John Craze (who survived the war).
